Grand Final Posters
Apart from Good Friday, the sale of the official Herald-Sun “Knight” Grand Final Posters (formerly "WEG" Posters) at AFL Grand Final (in conjunction with the Good Friday Appeal), is the other major fund raising event of the year and part of the Grand Final tradition! Posters are sold outside the MCG after the Final Siren.
It is generously supported and promoted by Stadia Media via the MCG scoreboards, television stations (including "The Footy Show"), radio stations (including 3AW Football) and the Press.
The Club members, their families and friends plus other Pied Piper volunteer supporters assemble at the M.C.G. at approximately 4.00pm,where they are formed into teams and allocated selling positions at exit points around the ground. After the final siren, runners despatch bundles of the winning team's Premiership Poster to the selling team's locations.
Award winning Herald-Sun Editorial Cartoonist, Mark Knight, is the artist producing the 2011 Grand Final Poster which will be sold by the RCH Pied Pipers immediately following the Final Siren at the MCG on Saturday October 1, 2011. Grand Final Posters sell for $2 each and all proceeds raised are donated to the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
Congratulations to all volunteers and contributors who helped raise $60,190.30 from the sales of the Herald Sun Mark Knight Posters on Saturday 1 October 2011. It's a fun time with the excitement generated by the team's supporters.
